With almost 30 years experience of working in learning disability services, both in health and social care settings, Michelle is a steadfast asset to the HICA management team. A qualified Registered Nurse in Learning Disability (RNMH), she complements her considerable clinical skills with many years in residential care settings, to bring an exemplary level of understanding and commitment to her role. She has a specific interest in the care and support of individuals with Down’s Syndrome and dementia and is looking to further develop the social care model already implemented at The Birches. Michelle has a degree in Managing Health & Social Care Organisations and is taking an NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management. On a personal note, Michelle loves dogs and has three beautiful Weimaraners who like to take her on long walks! She also keeps various breeds of chicken. Michelle is an avid Hull FC supporter and a big fan of travel, having backpacked around India, Vietnam, America and all over Europe – she also enjoys a good package holiday to the Greek islands!
