Born and educated in Hull, Grace is very much a ‘local girl’ – and a very youthful 58 years of age. Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1973, she knew that caring for people was her life’s vocation. This became even more evident when she became Senior Nurse on Medical Elderly wards and a Nurse Practitioner for the Elderly. Grace joined HICA in 2010 and uses every aspect of her 38 years’ experience to manage this large and successful home for older people. In line with her professionalism, she is always keen to improve quality standards and is especially interested in the socialisation aspects of care, particularly for those with a dementia-related illness. Grace has her Registered Managers Award and is both a strong manager and a much-respected mentor. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter and her dog. She is a keen gardener and a very, very keen shopper!
