Born in Goole, Joanne is happily married with two sons. She has almost two decades of experience in care settings, the last seven in management. A number of NVQs and a Registered Managers Award help to equip Joanne with the skills she requires to manage a home with a diverse range of needs. Dementia is a big part of this and she helps her team to deliver a highly person-centred approach to care; an approach that embraces all aspects of support, health and well-being. Joanne is a firm believer that quality should underpin everything – however small it might seem – and this, in turn, will provide a better environment and experience for residents. A special interest in the role of reminiscence and memorabilia is just one example of this dedication in practice. For pleasure, Joanne enjoys walking her dog, watching her son play rugby for Goole, holidays in the sun, hot Indian food and dancing to Northern Soul.
