Julie has worked with people with special needs from the age of 15 years and feels privileged to be a part of the Kirkgate House team. Her hands-on approach is reflected in the strong relationships she enjoys with staff, service users and their families. Julie truly loves her job and has been with HICA for 13 years, five as deputy manager and seven as manager. Her excellent leadership skills and conscientious management are the cornerstones of this smooth-running and vibrant home, where individuality and independence are encouraged. The entire team is wholeheartedly committed to Julie and it is this respect, coupled with her bubbly personality, that make Kirkgate stand out from the crowd. Julie’s qualifications include Registered Nurse (learning disability), D32/D33 NVQ Assessors Award, Registered Managers Award and a Diploma in Epilepsy Care. When she’s not working, she is with her husband and daughters, enjoying family life with them and their Jack Russell, Barney, who rules the house! Julie likes to spend her holidays on the ski slopes of Austria. She also enjoys musical theatre and was extremely proud when her youngest daughter recently took to the school stage in Beauty and the Beast.
