Jenny, who lived on a farm until she was married, learned to drive at the age of 12 so she could help with the harvest. This eager approach to life is also evident in her career and although she has worked with older people for over 30 years, Jenny is a firm believer that the only certainty in care is that there is no certainty – no two days or people are ever the same and that is why she feels she still learns something new every single day. She consolidates this outlook with a strong commitment to skills development and is registered with the General Social Care Council, has an NVQ Level 4 in Management and an NVQ Assessors Award. Jenny brings a positive outlook, a friendly disposition and a professional manner to her role as manager and receives the support and respect of her highly skilled team. In her spare time, country-loving Jenny likes nothing more than taking her bike out on long rides, walking, swimming, baking and travelling. She also ‘shares’ the affections of her Springer Spaniel, who is a very welcome guest at Holyrood when Jenny is at work.
