Three decades of experience in the care sector, working from carer to home manager, ensures Ida more than knows the job, but what sets her aside from others is that her enthusiasm is as strong today as it was 30 years ago. Ida continues to see her role in care as a privilege and she shares her vast knowledge and experience with her whole team. Her valuable insights are based on the changes she has witnessed in dementia care – along with changes in people’s attitudes to dementia. Highly qualified, Ida holds an NVQ Assessors Award, NVQ Level 4, Registered Managers Award and is trained in Dementia Care Mapping. Ida has lived in Yorkshire for 33 years, but remains a steadfast Scot who was born in Kilmarnock and still cheers for Scotland in any sporting event. Travel is her passion and although she’s visited places far and wide, there are plenty more she’d like to see and that’s why she plans to spend her retirement travelling the world!
